WeDidIt is an NGO that was founded by Sree Krishna Seelam in the year 2020. The year when the pandemic was thriving and people were not. The year when the efficiency of the digital platforms was tested and potentials maximised.

The organisation started off with only a couple of volunteers, barely six or seven people; the journey started at a college in Vijayawada. And in 2024, that is four years later, it has given purpose to thousands of volunteers.

In a world where many human beings have become “human-doings,” caught up in the ruthless advancing pace of modern life, WeDidIt’s mission resonates with a greater purpose. The digital platforms serve as the perfect connecting tools. Volunteering through online platforms not only provides an opportunity for individuals to rekindle their sense of humanity but also fosters a sense of belonging and community. It believes that volunteering is the first step to unlock the doors of humanitarian efforts.

Volunteering doesn’t simply mean physical presence anymore; volunteering can be done from home. For instance, writing content on issues in order to propel the narrative of the organisation further. The more far-reaching the content, the more the agenda spreads. Tagging posts appropriately prompts the algorithm to deliver them to the target audiences.

Humans and machines are companions if the efforts are optimised. What would not have been possible if left in the hands of the legal authorities was made possible with WeDidIt and their judicious use of resources. They managed to deliver justice to an elderly woman in just a couple of days thanks to human efforts—convincing and looking after the victim who was abandoned by her own son; and machine efforts—distributing online petitions.
